Sustainability at the Ebengut
Ebengut organic farm
In order to promote sustainable tourism, we at the Ebengut try to provide as much as possible from our own production for the catering of our guests.
Animal husbandry
Many animals live on our farm – from goats, rabbits and donkeys to a magnificent peacock, as well as our chickens and cows. All animals enjoy plenty of exercise, species-appropriate husbandry and, above all, our special appreciation, because their welfare is very important to us.
Organic food
At the Ebengut in Maria Alm, we make sure that the products we use are both organic and locally produced. We prefer to use our own organic produce from our farm. Because when you know where it comes from, it tastes even better.
Photovoltaics
The Ebengut is equipped with a large-scale 30 kWp photovoltaic system that produces a large proportion of our own electricity. By using solar energy, we are focussing on sustainability and conserving natural resources.
Charging station
If you come to us by e-car, you can conveniently charge your vehicle directly at the farm. (For a fee) The next adventure into the nature of Maria Alm can begin.
Drinking water
The drinking water at the Ebengut comes exclusively from our own mountain spring – fresh, clear and natural. It supplies the farm directly from the mountains and offers our guests an unadulterated enjoyment of nature.
Wooden energy
The entire house is heated with wood from our own sustainably managed forest. In this way, we use the natural resources right on our doorstep and create a cosy warmth in harmony with nature.
